There has been a little bit of progress in my wait for HSBC. I received some paperwork saying I was accepted and some to sign and return which I posted last week. Two copies actually! Of the same thing with different dates. So my chasing them seems to have head an effect.
With a bit of luck I will now receive the credit card shortly. Will post again when/if I do!0 -
I'd err on the side of caution with HSBC, I too was drawn in by the lucrative BT offer.
In December I received my card (5.5k) and after I had activated the card I was able to log in to their banking portal to attempt a balance transfer. I was fronted with Two Balance Transfers which were not mine. After 2 months of phone calls and complaints on Facebook/in Branch I got the balances removed and an apology. In all my years I've never had such a bad customer service experience - one of their representatives called me a lier - needless to say that they were reprimanded also.0 -
Not heard anything and not had any credit checks on equifax or noddle....0

Well I finally received my card on Saturday:) . Nearly 2 months after applying! And a bit of chasing.
I hope I dont go on to have an experience like yours thrombosis.
I tried to register for their online banking and it is not as straight forward as for other banks. But I will get there with persistence I am sure!0 -
slowlysurely you're name is quite apt for this thread!
I've resent my stuff back to Sainsburys but I've changed my mind on the direct debit I instructed them to take out. I'll see what eventually happens, if I get the card that is!Savings as of April 2023 Savings account - £26460.50(14474.88)Current account - £2140.24(4576.79)Total - £28600.74(19051.67) £1010 (£65pm CS/BS) £250 CS/BS/JS0 -

I just applied online today. I received no confirmation email or anything. I knew I should've printed the application summary page. Still this thread gave me hope, maybe its just HSBC's system and the demand during Jan & Feb as people try to get their finances in order. Fingers crossed.0

I don't understand HSBC and their process in general. I applied for a balance transfer card in mid-February and received a letter 15 days later, stating that they needed to speak to me. When I rang up and after waiting on a line for 45 minutes, somebody told me that there was a note on the file to say that I had been rejected, however, 'they were not sure'. Had I been rejected, would I have not received a standard rejection letter? The call centre did advise me to visit a branch but I just don't see the point, since they will only put me on the line to their call centre again.
Has anybody had a similar experience?0
