Hi guys i have had no broadbans since dec 18th. I have been sent round the houses as per bt normal. However this is impacting a very lot on work and personal life as i try to work from home a lot ( unable to obviously) and nothing can be updated. I have had to take 4 and a half days holiday for engineers to come but they havent either turned up or nothing worked for more than 24 hrs. I just renewed my contract with bt in nov for a 24 mth contract but i want to leave now.. can i get ant help from the law in a beoken contract?

If you work from home and want a service without disruption, then you should have a business broadband account which comes with Service Level Agreements for fault fixing etc. A domestic account does not have any Service Level agreements, so they can in effect "take as long as it takes" to fix any faults.
Even if you left BT, you would still have the fault to deal with whichever provider you choose as they all use (with the exception of Virgin Media) the same cables to get to the telephone exchange and it would be the same company (Openreach) that will be responsible for resolving any faults between your property and the exchange.0 -

If you tried to swap providers you would still have to wait probably 2 weeks to get it up and running.
