Hey there, new to the forums. I'm just looking for some advice, I've recently moved out of my old house where I lived with my (now ex) fianc!, I was happy to allow the plusnet DD come out of the bank till she had arranged something for herself. I got a email from plusnet the other day asking me for the cancellation fee of 120ish pounds! I rang them up and the guy on the phone was pretty chilled about the fact that I didn't ask for the line to be cancelled down and was also given no notice of the fee to be paid. When I said does that mean someone else was in my account he didn't exactly fill me with confidence. He recommended I cancel the DD and then arrange to pay it with an alternate method ( I didn't have the money on my debit card to pay about 100 extra compared to normal but could always use my cresit card.) I haven't paid yet. I don't mind paying as I know I'm in contract with them but I feel like I shouldn't just take this lying down given there was no notice of cancellation ( my ex has signed up with them with a new deal and all they said to her was the line will be disconnected for yours to become active) and the service to the privacy of my account was sub standard at best. Any advice will be great.
Thanks
Ash

When they discuss anything with you, they ask for a security password, so perhaps your ex new this and got another male to impersonate you.
A lady on these forums had/is having trouble with Sky, as they wouldn't let her cancel a service she was left with by a departing partner.0 -
I knew the service was there and was willing to pay until contract was up, just very annoying that this whole cancellation was done without any authorisation or notice by/to myself
plusnet have been fine apart from this!
