You don't really think "a director of a major bank" would have dealings with individual customer data do you?

While I also doubt the story, it doesn't actually say anywhere that the person was looking at customer data at all, let alone individuals, just that it was confidential.

Wouldn't it have been simpler to have just spoken to the person at the time?

In London on a train, you must be from out of town!

Was it Norwich to Liverpool Street?

Judging by the OP's name I guess it was in Canary Wharf, there are a few banks head offices there.

It would not be unusal for a director of a bank to personally deal with ultra high net clients so the OP's story does not sound that unbelievable.

What has this to do with consumer rights?

Is this forum ever going to get a serious thread again?

    I'm really beginning to wonder.

I doubt a director would be travelling cattle-class in order for someone to be able to shoulder-surf their laptop.

We are all consumers to banks, and we have the right for our personal data to be protected.

    Consumer Rights :)

How do you know the OP wasn't in First Class?

I commute by train and it is quite surprising the number of people working on laptops on business confidential or personal information, and who give no thought to who can see the screen.
  • The Op isn't going to bother coming back, so it is pointless responding.
