triple glazed patio doors

I just wondered if anyone may have recently had these installed, and if so, from whence they purchased them, please.

Triple glazed patio doors are very heavy, it's a lot of weight on the rollers and a lot of manufacturers don't like installing them. A very hard thud in the centre of the glass can make the middle pane hit the outer panes and may pop the glass.

Triple glazing French doors are easier as you can add a midrail to the doors to split the glass in two and they are easier to open than sliding a heavy patio door.

I have triple glazed bifolds & they aren't particularly heavy to move. I don't think I'd fancy sliding a patio door of any size though, but that could be because I'm a weakling.
I got mine from a local company so the name won't mean anything unless you're around these parts.

Why do you want triple glazed?

Essex Exile it is possible your supplier could get windows to whoever fits my windows in Shepperton. So contact details would be useful. Please.

Also, at 205 cm's wide, the window isn't that large, I guess.

I got triple glazed french doors installed in my extension. Was no problem, and didn't add much to the overall cost - after all the labour cost of installation doesn't change between double and triple. I opted for triple for all our windows and doors in order to reduce road noise as we live on a main road. The only window in the house that isn't triple glazed is the extension's velux, as I hadn't realised the triple glazed units had a two week lead time, whereas the standard double glazed were available next day - and my builder was ready for it!

I have triple glazed French doors, Duraflex profile. Including knock through of the area under the bay window price was £400 plus change. I did however get this done as part of a number of windows and did quite a lot of negotiating (propper negotiating as opposed to "let me call my manager....... And if you sign up today.....) I surveyed everything and took drawings and measurements to the local firm direct.
Some people don't exaggerate........... They just remember big!

They were made by Pyramid Profiles Ltd but I wouldn't necessarily recommend them. They're OK but the factory is just down the road which is handy when a visit is needed, & visits have been needed!

    Thanks all!
E.exile, thanks for the details. I have found an online company called Kat, which claims to do them. No reply to my email as yet.
Ytfcmad, best combination of security, insulation and noise reduction?
I did quite like the idea of bifold, aperture too small, apparently. I do assume a heavy door is best off supporting it,s own weight as per a slider rather than hinged.

Don't just look online - find a local recommended tradesman. Your neighbours and friends must have had windows replaced and can name someone.
