Proof reading is harder than it seems. There is a tendency to skim through and read what should be there rather than what is written.
It definitely is a good idea to have more than one person check proofs as Sue suggests - preferably the most pernickety person you can find who will go through it word by word and line by line.

Only if you ask me to proofread something BEFORE you send it to print! :rotfl:
Otherwise, you will hand me the shiny new leaflet, which we now have in massive quantities, and I'll say "hang on, that's not right!"
If you HAVE asked me to proofread it before it goes to print, I'll barely look at it once it comes from the printers, just in case I spot something I missed ...
