Boilerjuice monthly payment plan

Does anyone use this particular monthly plan? I have such trouble affording oil in the winter and thought a monthly plan would be worth doing, as my local suppliers want large amounts each month, all year, whereas boiler juice will accept a minimum of £40 a month.
Just wondered if anyone used it or had any problems with it.

I have oil heating and check 4/5 local suppliers price when needing a fill-up, I also check Boiler Juice and have never found they beat a direct quote from a local supplier.

If you sign up to a BJ savings plan, you will only get the price they ask, which is unlikely be the best in your area - Save up the £40 a month in your own bank/savings account

I wouldn't. The problem with these payment plans is that you're then tied in to one supplier, and they can charge you pretty much what they like. I realise that Boiler Juice is not just one supplier, but in my experience they are never the cheapest - I always get a cheaper price by phoning around half a dozen local suppliers directly.

If you can afford to pay £40 a month to a payment plan, simply put £40 a month into a savings account instead. When you need to fill up, you then have the money ready, and can shop around for the best deal.
  • Oh.
Ive found that boiler juice gets me the cheapest quote compared to my local suppliers, some of whom wont even give me a solid quote on the phone.
As for the savings plan, perhaps I will find an alternative way to save that money.
    Thanks!

Why would you lock yourself into any one supplier who can then charge you what they want?

Open a savings account and put your monthly cash in there:

    1) it will earn (a little) interest
    2) you can then shop around for cheapest oil when you need it.

    Win/win.

I've never found boilerjuice the cheapest. If it is in your area, fine, but don't make the assumption.

A supplier who won't give you a quote on the phone? I've never heard of this in 20 years of ringing round.

And many suppliers nowadays will give you a (cheaper) quote on the internet - find local suppliers, google their web page, and check.
  • Far too expensive, Hassle Free Boilers' offer starts from £19.99 per month.
    Love combi boilers!
