Great. Lesson learned by him, we hope.
Get him back there to be checked and for the doctor to declare him fit and confirm if his chest is clear in good time before you go.
Now he has a new albeit hopefully short lived condition, you MUST tell your insurer before you travel. Obviously, it may costs a bit more to cover - but same deal on costs if it recurred abroad and he ended up in hospital or unable to fly till it was better.
It depends which insurer as to what exactly they will ask, but expect it to include if the infection has gone or not and if you doctor thinks he can go.
Pay any extra they ask and enjoy the wedding :-).I am just thinking out loud - nothing I say should be relied upon!
I do however reserve the right to be correct by accident.0 -

So all the worry was over something very treatable. Silly manThinkingOutLoud wrote: »Great. Lesson learned by him, we hope.

I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Fair question - to be fair they have declared his heart condition before all this - so I think / hope they understand the chest infection needs declaring too...
But, I appreciate you endorsing the need :-)
Often cited male reticence to go anywhere near a GP appears to have some merit as an accusation and not simply to be oblique sexism.I am just thinking out loud - nothing I say should be relied upon!

You would already have to declare it to the insurer anyway (without going to the doctor). Without a diagnosis the insurer wouldn't cover you if his conditioned worsened so you could have an expensive medical bill. He needs to go to the doctor.0

So he needs to declare what turned out to be a chest infection. And I suspect his insurer will expect him to confirm he is fit to travel with his doctor once again ; hopefully once the infection has gone.I am just thinking out loud - nothing I say should be relied upon!
