BT - Internet Keeps Going Off. Phone barely audible often.

Options
Had problems with internet access since 16th Dec. Was off until 7th Jan. Engineers were booked and then cancelled by BT. All in all spent over 20 hours on the phone attempting to get sense.

A lot of people in my locality are experiencing similar and also with their land lines. The crackling on the line makes some calls inaudible. Some are receiving calls for other numbers as they got the lines crossed when they were carrying out repairs.

It seems that a load of Open Reach engineers have been drafted into the area from Liverpool, Birmingham etc. The rumour is that a muck up was made when laying a fibre optic cable, but BT will not admit to this.

I did raise a complaint as it is becoming wearisome. But a BT person phoned today & said well I am sorry that you are fed up = sorry that you feel that way, but there is nothing we can do as your internet activity was quite high in December.

We have been promised call backs which haven't happened, been told all sorts of lies - like 'it's because it's windy','it's because it's raining'. 'The engineer couldn't do the repairs because a car was parked on the pavement' - the nearest pavement is 32 miles away.

It just seems to be the way that companies are now run - shoddy & they don't care & you get charged for a service that doesn't work all of the time. To complain is a waste of space and just gets you wound up. The people on the other end of the phone talk in riddles that doesn't do anything other than frustrate.
