pay in euros or pounds

just watched Martin's great tv show where he re iterated always pay in euros. Last week I spent 500 euros in France and was offered £442 by the merchant. On Martin's advice I paid euros and the Mastercard bill arrived today showing £449. Not always best to pay in local currency.

Depends on your bank's fee. What is it? Sometimes DCC can beat expensive cards. But it won't beat a fee free card.0
