Dominican Republic, Cuba or Mexico in August? (or Suggestions Elsewhere)

I have been looking for a holiday and I don't mind a budget-mid range hotel but am begrudged at paying high prices for two weeks All inclusive in Europe (Over £800+ pp) at the end of August, I know its school holidays but it's generally cheaper late August.
I found some reasonable deals for Cuba, Mexico and Dominican Republic at round £950+ per person. However I know know the reason they are so cheap, the weather. Would anyone who has been or know these countries recommend going in late August?
Alternatively, Does anyone have any recommendations for alternatives to Europe or those countries listed, at a similar price and again going late August?
Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.

That time of year it is the hurricane season. You would also find it hot and humid.
Despite the political problems, Turkey is still an option worth considering as the tourist areas are well away from trouble spots. It is also good value for money.0 -

I'd like to go back to Turkey but the political problems combined with the potential for terrorist attacks from multiple fronts doesn't make it appealing, and judging by the incredibly low prices, many other people agree.0 -
I've been to Mexico and Dominican Republic in July and August and never had any problems."More people would learn from their mistakes if they weren't so busy denying them." - Harold J. Smith:cool:0

You have been lucky then as have some friends of mine. They went to Cuba last year for 2 weeks and their flight home was 2 days before a hurricane hit.
Booking for that area from May through to October can be a bit of a lottery and you pay the money and take a chance0 -
I don't think there are hurricanes on the west coast of Mexicotravelover0

Unfortunately they do get hurricanes on the west coast of Mexico, when we were out there in June 2015 there was one that was making it's way to where we were staying but veered off so we were lucky, think it was Hurricane Carlos if memory serves me rightITV Winners Club #87 :eek:0

I would have thought Egypt was as 'hot' in terms of travel as Turkey.......
What's the situation in Turkey on the Turquoise coast? Perhaps well away from problems?Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

I have been to Cuba and Antigua in late August and didn't have a drop of rain (although there was a storm 2 days before we arrived in Antigua). Have you checked out Aruba? I've not been but apparently the weather there is more predictable year round. Not sure of the prices in August but have you considered Sri Lanka? I believe the weather is good in August. Take a look on Hayes and Jarvis. All inclusive hotels with good reviews for 850.0
