I've done it - not unfortunately become debt free but the second part of the plan I started at end of last year has happened and it all feels like it is finally on the last lap. Just before Christmas I closed one of my credit cards that I had been keeping open but dormant in case I needed it to do a balance transfer as one of my other cards was running out of 0% this month. As, if all went to plan, I wouldn't need it I took the plunge and closed it - so that was part one of the plan. Part 2 was to get the balance on the card that was about to start charging interest moved to balance cc2 having negotiated an increase in the credit limit and a new 18 month 0% deal to do it. It's been going through this week which is why I haven't padded for a few days, not wanting to mess things up. So now finally all the balance debt is in one place on 0% interest and I have 18 months to clear just over £3500, which averages just under £200 per month. Going to be tough but I really need to do this. Not all my pads go to this as I tend to include payments towards my spendy card when it's clearing one-off charges so they don't create a new debt but don't include payments to clear my normal monthly spend on groceries, hair cuts etc that I use the card for because of cashback.
Anyway, sorry for going on but I definitely feel like this is the beginning of the end and you lot on here are the best people to share it with as you understand where I'm coming from more than most people in RL.Every penny's a prisoner
