£1.27 PAD to my new 'monthly overpayments ' sinking fund. With concerns growing around energy etc I've made the decision to not sent PADS straight to debt but to hold them in a designated pot and assess how much I can afford to pay to debt at the end of each month x

That's exactly what I've started doing @Deleted_User. It's made me feel so much better, as I still get to make overpayments to bring the debt down, but I'm not leaving myself short and I can make the PAD at the end of the month when I review everything.

I've started a fund for me to get one month ahead on my bills as I have variable income throughout the month. So I want to be able to eventually have each enough to put a month's worth of bills into my into the Monzo pot where my bills come out of, so that I'm on top of everything should one month's income be lower etc. That's in its infancy as a fund, but it's given peace of mind nonetheless 😁.

  • Hi @Keedie, that's such a good idea. I have been considering doing something simular but for our monthly energy bill in preparation ofthe winter with a goal of saving £400. We currently have £150 bill credit so that will give us £550 to ease the blow of the huge increase.

We're constantly having to reassess things aren't we. X
  • Almost forgot £4 to PAD pot xx

Preparing for the forthcoming energy rises is a good idea. I’ve been putting odd bits aside in a separate passbook account.
PAD of £50;to mortgage today as that’s yet another thing that’s going up!
