Are degrees in the UK value for money?

Degrees already are ranked by these metrics.
Here is one of about umpteen different collations:

The fact that you have been sounding off at such immense length and volume and didn't know that, is quite astounding.
what about:
- starting salaries and expected salary progression by degree?
- expected wages vs the accumulated student debt?
- graduate destinations by degree and uni type?
- alternatives to doing a degree for the same graduate destination?
- how soon after graduating is a graduate expected to find any work and work they intended to go into?
- how relevant degrees are to the actual work?
- what % of those graduating from a certain degree at a certain uni going into the field they studied (linked to the question above)?0 -
In what way is this not taxed? I feel like I am speaking to a child.
you're the one who wants to make it a more equal society. why not just tax your wealth to give to the poor?
lets take the total personal wealth of the country and divide it by the total population. lets call this number x.
lets call your net worth y.
if y > x why dont we just give away y-x of your wealth and distribute it away?
in fact if a more equal society is what you want then why dont you do this right now?0 -

That is literally the last time I am googling anything for you. You will just have to make your own way in the world from now on. It's going to be tough for you but I am convinced that if you leave your parents' basement and just take it one step at a time you will make it.
One day you might even go to a university. I know it seems like an impossible dream now, but anything can happen.0 -

how does this remotely answer any of my questions?
what about degree by university?
what would the numbers look like if median salaries were used instead of mean?0 -

It tells you how many students are in employment or further study after 6 months. It doesn't tell you how many of the students are in employment as shelf stackers in supermarkets (there is nothing wrong with stacking shelves in supermarkets but no one needs a degree to do it. I wonder how many students realise that they will get a minimum wage job after their degree if they can get any job at all?)
It doesn't tell you how many students are working in minimum wage jobs and it doesn't tell you how many people are doing masters degrees at dud universities in subjects like fashion because they realise that they can't get a job.
This information is not provided by universities (I wonder why?) It is not provided by schools because of the league tables and the teachers jobs. So where does someone get it from?0 -

i would take an educated guess to say that if the median numbers were used the professional and non professional average salaries would be a lot closer.
with the professional jobs, there would be a huge range of starting salaries. you would have bankers and contutants on 50k starting as well as many other professional jobs. you would also have lower paid starting salaried jobs that require jobs like accountancy. for non professional jobs it will be a lot less disperse.
these stats dont show anything about the value of a degree. a start would be to break it down by universities.0 -
