Urgent help appreciated re driving licence

I wonder if anyone can help? We are traveling on holiday to Peneng in Malaysia next week and have just noticed in the small print on the car hire paperwork that we must have a photo licence. Both my husband and I have the old style paper driving licences.

Are there any fast driving licence issue arrangements like there are for passports? Viz driving to Swansea?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had this issue when I hired in Canada last year - you just need to get a code from the DVLA (so hire company can check your record). Go to website gov.uk then search for "view driving licence".

If they wanted a code or a printout, they would have asked for it. They asked for a photo licence. An IDP in conjunction with the paper licence will cover it....as the IDP will have their photograph within.
