decided i really dont ike my "kids"

Options
after years of trying to console myself i have come to the end of my tether. i really dont like the children i have raised. i gladly admit i must be a freak of nature, but hay ho ive gone and spilt the beans now. have daughter aged 27 and son 24. both have been a complete disaster. daughter has 3 children, son has 2. son does not see or pay towards and never has the twins who are 4 years old. daughter has 2 by one chap 1 by another, only dad 2 has contibuted to his daughter. neither of my kids has any work ethics before or after their off spring arrived. they continue to try and bleed me dry both money wise and head wise. i am utterly sick of the pair of them. i must be in a very small minority as everyone seems to have a fab family life. :o

  • Everyone has things in their lives that vex them sweetie, no one who is honest has a perfect happy family life there are always some things that need to be worked at and worked out that's the nature of parenting. Deep down, despite how you're feeling this minute you DO love them really it's just at the moment they are making it hard for you to do so. It will pass, you'll find a way to get back to level, but in the meantime have a hug to help cheer you up, Lyn xxx.

T14cy - Bigs Hugs x you can only guide your kids, not live their lives for them - believe me a perfect family life is for the few, not the many.

Do not believe everything you read and people tell you.

    'Faceache' is a prime example.

I have seen pictures of people taken together that most of the time are not even talking to each other. It is all a front.

Truth be known you are not in the minority.

No, you are not alone. I have confessed before that if my eldest (adopted) son's birth mother had turned up to reclaim her child when he was a teenager, I would have broken my neck to pack his case and send him back.
He is now in his late 40s and we still have quite a difficult relationship. I've not seen him for about 5 years now. He phones occasionally, usually when he's strapped for cash, and that is fine. He's not a bad person but has quite a difficult personality.

I always say that he was born under a stroppy star. Not as far fetched as you may imagine. My good friend had a daughter just a couple of days after. They were brought up together, shared birthday parties ect. I well remember my friend saying once, " She's my daughter and I love her, but I don't really like her. She's not a very nice person." That girl grew up to be a notorious woman, reviled by the newspapers. Every time she hits the headlines I cringe for my friend.

The perfectly happy family is usually a myth. I'm not saying that they don't exist, I even know some of them, but more than you realise are putting on a good front, in denial or lying their little socks off.

Most normal families are like the curate's egg, good in parts.

Don't despair, there are many of us who empathise with you.

I believe that friends are quiet angels
Who lift us to our feet when our wings
Have trouble remembering how to fly.

Ah, families, eh? Don't believe all the hype. No one is perfect.

You might want to rethink bailing them out though - they are both old enough to be standing on their own two feet - might just be the making of them xx
