I have a lot of old mobile phones acquired over the years some up to 20 years old, some also might work

Is there anyone that is reliable who would buy them or should they just go to landfill?

Have a google to see if any charities local to yourself are collecting old phones. That way they'll be doing some good.

Your local authority should have an electrical and / or mobile phone recycling point at the local refuse collection site. Don't put them in the bin.

You haven't specified any of the phones, but they could have value on eBay - why not do an advanced search, completed listings only, and see what your models sell for (green price = sold, red price = didn't sell).
