No not all 5 stud wheels will fit, even if they are 15"

The hole pattern (PCD) can different, the offset (ET##) can be different and the actual bolts used can be different also. Especially if you have alloys.

  • Mine is a 64 reg Auris Hybrid, I believe there has been a slight model change. My car does can have a full size wheel stored in the rear underfloor, the covering does lift slightly but not hardly noticeably.

The reason I firstly looked into the space saver was that I "wrongly" had assumed any 15" 5 stud space saver wheel will fit and I could buy a 2nd hand 1 cheaply and with it being a space saver it should not impact my MPG too much.

But as I am struggling to get a 2nd hand space saver and new dealer ones being £180. I guess I should get a full size wheel and not worry about the MPG.

    Thanks

The MPG difference would be negligible. Driving style and weather would make bigger differences.

That does pleasantly surprise me, room for a full size if you scour the ads no reason why you wouldn't find a correct used alloy wheel, then no worries about different wheelbolts, though you've still got to get a jack and summat to undo said wheels.
  • Sorry 1 more question, my existing tyres are 1956515, so if I buy a full size tyre + wheel of the same size I can still only buy after comparing the PCD + ET etc?

    Thanks

Basically, yes, all OE wheels (and every aftermarket one too) i've seen has had the details stamped on the inside, might even be on the outside on some steels.

If it were me i'd try to find an undamaged alloy wheel from a write off identical to your own whilst looking, that way if you scrape one of your own set somehow there's no panic about finding another or paying through the nose for a new tyre to get you home from a long journey.

If you look for Auris wheels on eBay most sellers specify the exact model they fit: if not, ask them.

BTW there are some space savers on there.

Yes, if the PCD is different it wont fit at all. If the ET is wrong then it may stick out further which is not too much of an issue for an emergency wheel that you will replace very quickly. But on the other hand it may sit too far inwards and foul on the suspension, so your journey will be 10 feet of !!!!!! is that noise as the wheel grinds the suspension.
Or it may fit until you try and turn a corner where it makes contact with the bodywork.

I too would rather a full size spare, but i wonder if the Auris has room underfloor for a space saver only,
Which always begs the question "Where do you put the one that's just come off...?"

Is there a scrap yard near? If so go there and ask, maybe they will source a wheel for you and no postage to pay.
