Caravan maybe has MCB's etc which are always more sensitive than the old fashioned wired fuses.

That's a silly argument. I use two computers (1 work, 1 home) and both are laptops that >95% of the time are run on mains power. They are generally used in one place, but quite often taken elsewhere to be used. With a desktop that would be impractical, so laptops are by far the best solution.0 -
Quite right it does, yet last 5 years no problem, only started doing it recently. Could MCB be too sensitive or have gone faulty?firefox1956 wrote: »Caravan maybe has MCB's etc which are always more sensitive than the old fashioned wired fuses.

"Laptop" is a marketing buzz word for portable computer, unlike a phone or a tablet, battery power is not it's normal state, it should be used with the power supply whenever possible.
.
Agreed ...
However i would be a bit skeptical of any ebay sellers claims of genuine electronics.
If it were me peronally id either buy an original from acer themselves or perhaps get a "one for all" from your local computer shop for around 15 squid.0
