Hi Folks

I have a Refurbished Acer Aspire V5-431P 14" Intel Pentium 2117U 4GB 500GB Windows 8 Laptop.

Could someone be kind enough to recommend the appropriate charger?

Thanks

All items are shipping within the China via Singapore or HongKong Post office.

    Hmmmm.....
  • Just avoided linking cheaper ones from eBay or Amazon as they are usually poor quality or fake copies but I hadn't looked at where the one I linked was shipped from or I wouldn't have linked it on second thought. Can pay with Paypal so protection is there. Might have slow shipping times though.

I bought one when I used to have a netbook off eBay, UK seller, turned out to be non-working. Seller didn't want it back and made sure they specified the kettle lead was genuine though so should have worked lol.

Might be better off buying a universal charger from a reputable brand, which is what I did in the end.

I'm sure not all are poor quality ones but with electrical stuff I wouldn't go too cheap.

    It's not a "charger", it's a power supply.

"Laptop" is a marketing buzz word for portable computer, unlike a phone or a tablet, battery power is not it's normal state, it should be used with the power supply whenever possible.

As for where the get one, try online auction sites for an original genuine power supply.

It's got a battery because unlike a desktop you're supposed to carry it around, since like you said it's a portable computer.
If you were using it most of the time with a power supply you might as well get a desktop pc or AIO. Unless you live in a super cramped space.
You in general not specifically you.
If what you say was true, there wouldn't be a concern among manufacturers to build laptops with a long battery life. The most popular models are ultra portable laptops with long battery life in fact.

That's ironic since you linked to likely fakes from China. LiteOn, like Acer, is a Taiwanese company.

If you want 'genuine' buy LiteOn PA-1650-86 or PA1650-02...as in the one to which I linked, on eBay.

The problem comes when they 'bait and switch', which I think that eBay seller is likely to do.

if you want genuine, buy from this seller or this one. Used but genuine.

Like I said I wasn't aware they shipped from China so good that you went and checked . I also just talked about my personal experience. Yes some sellers pretend to be located in the UK but ship from China. I know LiteOn are a legit company. That's not why I mentioned fakes. They write genuine Acer, LiteOn etc and it turns out it's a poor copy; that's all. See it all the time with chargers, cables, batteries etc.

I'm sure your links have excellent recommendations but looks like OP isn't coming back on this thread sadly. I have seen the same post elsewhere on another forum.

    Nifty we're not enemies :)

I have an Acer Aspire laptop and when visiting our static caravan the charger has started tripping the consumer unit off. No problem at home. Even does it when not plugged in to laptop. Any ideas? On old fashioned fuses at home.
