Not really its just couple of good experiences in the past. :)

What, like those fools on the ads that say they take quite a lot less for their car because their time is more valuable?

An unwanted and lesser known side effect to an insurance endorsement/conviction, is the inability to hire a car from any mainstream hirer. Have a look at the Ts and Cs in details and you will see that the main companies will not hire to anyone with an insurance related endorsement. So you'd be looking at back street hirers that often have older cars that break down...

That could be the future for you and for your potential buyer if his insurance doesn't cover you to drive your uninsured car. Of course, you might not get caught.

    Do you feel lucky, punk?

    Well, do ya?

Either get someone to buy the car that will pick it up or tax your car and insure it on a short term basis for viewings.
  • Prison. With Mr. Big.

    Or:
    Maximum fine of £5,000
Fixed penalty of £200 and between six and eight points on your licence
    Disqualification
Seizure and destruction of the uninsured vehicle

    That's not very fixed.

It's only six points and £300.

    Hi guys

My car is sorned and I want to sell it

It has mot but not tax and insurance. Now when one comes to buy it they want to test drive it but problem is car is not insured

    What would you do?

If i let them test drive by me sitting next to them what happens if police catches us?

I am the owner but he or she is the driver

You both get done, unless their insurance covers them to drive.

True. But if you refuse an FP, or it's not offered, it could be 8 points or a ban at court.

No the worst is that your potential buyer kills someone in your uninsured car and you become liable for millions in damages.

If it is SORN it can't legally be test driven except by a trader with trade insurance.

I'm not sure that it can: (sounds a bit ambiguous to me)

    To Quote from:

    http://dvla-offices.co.uk/statutory-off-road-notification-sorn/

"those in the motor trade business are only exempted from SORN requirements for those vehicles they deal with in the course of their work – not every vehicle they may own. In order to be SORN exempt, a vehicle must only be in temporary possession of a motor trader (before it is sold or dismantled, for example), it must be kept off the road with certain exceptions (it can be driven to its MOT or to undergo weight, emissions and vehicle identity checks), and if it is being taxed."

Well, I didn't write it. I just did what the OP should have done and Googled it. Didn't bother to check the facts just like the OP didn't bother to use a search engine.

Just show you shouldn't trust everything you read online then.
