Well the driver might be covered for insurance on their own policy, but you as keeper would be liable for the vehicle being on the road
  • If they have a third party cover that normally says my car also has to be insured so won't work

What is worst that can happen to me as owner ?

    Prison. With Mr. Big.

    Or:
    Maximum fine of £5,000
Fixed penalty of £200 and between six and eight points on your licence
    Disqualification
Seizure and destruction of the uninsured vehicle

The worst is a ban and income-related fine for causing or permitting driving without insurance, plus a fine for no tax.

The least is £300 FP and 6 points.

That's not normal at all. You'll find it only says that on a few policies.

Not to mention difficulties finding insurance and increased insurance costs for years to come.

In this case, I would sell my car to any car buying company those offer free collection ie We buy cars today, we want any car etc. They have their trade insurance which can save your hassle and you also dont have to take your car to them. If you not happy they will go back empty hand not you as a customer. :)

You seem to do a lot of [STRIKE]advertising of[/strike] advising people to use these firms.

No the worst is that your potential buyer kills someone in your uninsured car and you become liable for millions in damages.

If it is SORN it can't legally be test driven except by a trader with trade insurance.
