Hi,
i've got my first two defaults coming off in the next 30 days.
Once the time has trigged over 6 year i believe these are removed.
Bit of daft question, if and when i get searched in the future, will this come up during a search?
Also with one of the defaults i make monthly payments which i will continue to do so after the 6 year point again will this show up?
Thanks

No, when the default is removed the entire account record goes, never to come back. That includes past and future payments.

But don't get the idea it's been deleted from their files; it hasn't. It's merely been suppressed.0 -

Hi GingerBob although I can't speak for other Credit reference agencies, at Experian once a default is over 6 years old we delete the record completely.

Thanks for the info. Not even retained on backup or archive media then?0 -
Good news the default has come of the credit report.
HOWEVER - i have another default which will hit the six year mark on the 10th of February, this has also gone off?
Also I forgot to ask that I have a old Barclay card account which was settled back in 2012 - this is on the closed account section - When you click it the history isn't the best although its settle is this gong to affect me as its showing on my credit card. Also the default which comes of in February is also from Barclaycard - i'm a little confused.

Ehhh good? It happens - I wouldn't ask them to put it back on if I were you... :cool:onthefencepost wrote: »Also I forgot to ask that I have a old Barclay card account which was settled back in 2012 - this is on the closed account section - When you click it the history isn't the best although its settle is this gong to affect me as its showing on my credit card. The account settled in 2012 - was it defaulted? If not then it will remain on your file for 6 years after you closed it. Yes it will show up when people search your file for credit "scoring"
The default coming off in Feb... you mean the one that HAS come off or another one? Did you have more than one Barclays product? They would be reported separately...DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Hi,
Thank you for your post.
Looked into this a little further.
I had two defaults, one with a collection agency which came to the 6 year mark on the 28th of Jan.
My Barclaycard default was suppose to expire on the 10th of Feb but its been removed early? - Any help with this.
Also looking at my closed accounts Barclaycard settled in 2012, i cannot remember this and I only had one Barclaycard which i've defaulted which was on til the 10th next month which has disappeared. What shall i do about this?
I have a further three more defaults two with Barcalys Bank for two current accounts which i had an overdraft with. These defaults will by off by Jan next year - which leaves me with a credit card default to deal with. As this credit card default is from 2014 - i will settle in full - i'm a little annoyed as i wasn't given proper notice of default and since royally learnt my lesson with managing debt but i don't want to tackle this until the other defaults are resolved.0
