Gas or Electric cooker - which is best?

I'm hopefully moving to a new house soon (finger's crossed!) and trying to decide which type of cooker to get. The property currently has a gas cooker.
I had electric years ago, but in my current house have gas.
Which is the most expensive to use? I know electric tends to be "cleaner" but are there any other points to note for either choice?
Thanks
Stacey

if i could change to gas i would. electric hobs take ages to cool down, so if youhave to boil and then simmer you have to take the pan off wait ages.... then out it back on but gas its at the lower temp straight away just have to wait for the pan to cool. and i'm always forgetting to turn the hob off as i dont see a flame.
not usre enviromentally which is best/cleanest though... soz..'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
In my opinion... Gas Hob with Electric A Rated Oven... Best of both worlds...

See this post here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=556784The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0
