Lainey, it's very hard isn't it? It's a slow process but it does get better.
BB, I hope you're back home none the worse today, let us know how you got on today.
LW I hope the lupus flares are subsiding, I'm filled with admiration for the amount of things you do with such a debilitating illness.
I have started my Christmas present from DH (ordered by me, I might add). It's a quilt kit which I wouldn't normally buy but I loved the pattern and the fabric I decided it would make a good gift for DH to give me. It's quite an intricate pattern of stars and I'm determined to make all the points meet as accurately as possible, so cue lots of unpicking as there doesn't seem to be an easy reference point for fome of them to make them line up. The sewers among you will hopefully know what I mean. It's keeping me nicely occupied though.
My happy thing yesterday was managing to get 3 books from a series I'm collecting from charity shops (the library doesn't have them).0 -
Good morning chums,
Football yesterday was fun. Came home around 7.30 and cooked and cleaned then went to bed sharp. Gave myself 15 minutes more than I did on Sunday night and I felt better for it when I woke at 5.30.
Up and had breakfast and a coffee then left in plenty of time for the gym. I may have found my new routine! I've no plans tonight, so I'll get the thinking cap on to make sure it's kept productive.
FurryBeast - I do no exactly where you are. I go to the PureGym at Charing X, just round the corner.
Hester - I laughed sooo hard. Thank you.
Cranky - Go you for taking piano lessons. A wonderful skill to learn.0 -

Good Morning chums cold and frosty here in the Medway, still its dry which is something at least I got all my ironing done and finished off last night and I have been doing small mending bits as I go along when doing my ironing, instead of waiting to find out there was a button off here, or a small mend there, when I come to wear it

Porridge for breakfast to warm the cockles up then off to coffee morning at Dobbies by 10.15.a.m. for U3A (I get two hot drinks per month with my loyalty card) which only costs me a tenner per year and the coffees are £2.95 each so its win-win
:)
Then home to my house for some HM leek and tattie soup and crackers and cheese, then to DDs by 12.30. to let the dogs out and prep her food for their dinner for tonight.
I then stack her DW with breakfast things etc so when she gets home tonight everything is half done :)and whizz around the sitting room with the hoover for her Then the boys will be in from school asking for food of some description. They have their dinner around 7.00 so a snack keeps them going until then.I leave to go home around 6.40 when their Mum gets home Tuesday their Dad is at college where he is doing an extra engineering degree to help with his job
Tonight by 7.15.p.m. I am at quiz night at the pub which comes from my entertainment stash at £2.00 its a bargain as I get a meal thrown in as well. With luck I should be home by 10.30 pm.Another day in the life of a retired old granny
:):) My feet barely touch the ground on Tuesdays
:):) But I don't mind as I like to keep busy
My thoughts are with you Lainey and the tough times you are going through today You have been magnificent coping with everything over the past few months Take care honey and be kind to yourself and don't forget to eat

Morning all,
Nice bright day here I have a load of whites on to wash and I think I will hang them out for a while they will smell fresh if nothing else.
Dinner today will be a pie made from the left over beef from Christmas which I had chopped and frozen, I shall make a rich gravy and make it into a pie, I shall do cubed garlic potatoes and some veg with it, I am looking forward to it already, I shall make dd a quorn chicken pie.
Got to take the dog over the field today and give her a good run, hopefully she will meet one of her mates and they will wear each other out.
I need to do an online food shop too as stocks are running low. They have opened a new Tesco express in the next village its very handy, when I went in there yesterday they handed me a load of coupons mainly £2 off ones, its very handy if you just want a few bits.
Lainey thinking of you, the next few weeks will be very draining take some time for you xx
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning all
Sitting here with my second cuppa of the day. It would seem I'm not a morning person during the winter, although the sun is shining here today. Once the warmer, brighter months are here I'll be up earlier and doing things. This time last year I was in at work before 9am but that seems so long ago now.
Yesterday we had a lovely day out, doing a behind the scenes tour of the Royal Albert Hall. It was DH's birthday present from me and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. We were in a group of about 20 from various countries, including a family of 4 from Brazil, and our guide was a larger than life lady with lots of tales to tell. Amongst other things we sat in the Royal Box, which the Queen only uses once a year for the Remembrance Day service so other staff at the Palace are allowed to use it for the rest of the year. Afterwards we had a late lunch at the Wholefoods Restaurant on the top floor of what used to be the Derry&Toms building in Kensington High St. It has a good help yourself salad bar where they weigh your plate and charge you accordingly plus other food options around the outside, then you just find somewhere to sit and eat. Very relaxed with a microwave for you to use and popular with local workers and all sort of folk.
Today I'm making a shopping list for the SM and will be off there soon. Also have washing in the machine and a bit of ironing to do so won't be twiddling my thumbs.
Hope everyone's day is as bright as can be. xx0 -
Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
Its dry but a bit grey, I have hung out the towels I washed last night, doubt if they will dry much, am having to use the dryer a but more just not.
Into the local out patients with OH for another swallow test, they did not find anything either which is very frustrating.......hey ho.... I should know by now.
Big job today, our friends have agreed to collect the rest of the day bed tomorrow, so today I need to assemble the chest and decant boxes of fabric into it, move the bookcase again and also the freezers and the larger table. OH said he will give me a hand.
I have put some salmon in a marinade, will cook it and allow it to go cold, then we can either have salad or potato and peas with it. I can make a sauce from the liquid.0 -
'Scuse me, I need to scream. AAARRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!
GP surgery have just called Mr LW (I don't do phones, he takes the calls for me). They want to haul me in for an "arthritis review" whatever the heck that is (never been called for one in all these years before).
Of course I had to be in the room while Mr LW set it up, (normally I leave the room if he's on the phone) as he needed to check dates with me, and also check which GP I would be prepared to see (has to be a woman, and preferably one without a strong accent, as I have trouble understanding accents). I couldn't do the first two dates they offered (dog-sitting commitments) so going 14th Feb, with Dr B, my 2nd choice of GP. Ironically, I already have an appt with Dr B on 25th Jan, but no, that's not enough, they say I have to go for this other one as well.
I am shaking like the proverbial leaf now.
WHY ME????? *cries* If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
