Mine came from a stall on the market in Central MK - if memory serves, it was only a tenner! That was about seven years ago, though; but it's plenty big enough for our 3-seater sofa.

I got it to protect the (new) sofa from doggie hairs. ;)

I bought mine from Ikea. They are bed throws. I bought a king size for the large 3 seater leather sofa and a single for the 1 seater as it fit better then the double.

  • I got two from TKMaxx - one for my two seater sofa and a larger one for my three seater. American and sort of cosy fleece in a cream colour. I got sick of forever straightening them (especially when the DGDs were here) so they now cover the seating at the caravan!

  • I got a 200x250 cm waffle throw from B&M for £14.99 last month. Looks and feels much more expensive than it was.

I think your best idea is sewing your throws together, but if you want to look at cheap fabric online then try fabricland
  • Mine are not throws, as such, but similar.
I use the extra large blankets from Dunelm which are the biggest I've found to cover my large 3 seater.

They are with the bedding, I think and come in a variety of colours, styles. The very large ones are about £40, but they are occasionally in the sales.

Think about how you're going to wash it - will two sewn together fit in the washing machine?

If yes, then you could make the join/seam a feature with contrasting stitching - I've used an oversized blanket stitch to edge before in a contrasting colour plus carried that colour through to the seam and then into two coordinating cushions.

Or you could use three smaller throws - two in a lighter colour at either end with a contrasting one in the middle then use the accents of colour in cushions to draw it all together.
    :hello:
  • My friend came to visit me from Dartford yesterday and took home with her my two cream coloured throws that I have on my sofa and she is going to machine them together for me One is around three quarters the size of my sofa and the other one is a single on so together they will more than cover it I am so pleased as I just couldn't find anything big enough and where I live there are not many fabrics warehouses to visit easily. I shall treat her to trip to the cinema in a few weeks time as a small present and I know she will appreciate it.I have known her for 47 years bless her and she ,like me is an canny lady when it comes to buying stuff :) I was telling her about how it was hard to find a trow big enough and she said its not a problem I will fix them for you . Now that's what every one needs, a friend who can fix things :):):) Bless her she has saved me cash and I get to keep the really nice cotton cream waffle throws that I like win-win :) she too said she had never seen extra large ones and thinks its a retail company policy so you have to buy two :):):) Thanks agin for all your input chums
