I want a big throw for my sofa

Hi I am looking for an extra large throw for my sofa, most of them will not cover a three seater settee. I looked in Dunelm but they just wern't big enough At the moment I had two cream coloured waffle effectones on there that I bought a couple of years ago from M&S in Oxford street, but apparently they don't seem to be made very large anymore and the ones I have overlap to cover it Any ideas chums where I may get one big enough ?

Depends how big. Years ago I had a sofa that had low arms and a low back and it looked as if a big quilt had been thrown over it. You could measure up King size quilts for size.

Or, shuffle down to a fabric warehouse type of place and find something you like, at the right weight etc and have a bit cut to the length you want. For finishing, either don't bother, sew it up, stick it with double sided tape, or iron it using that wonder web stuff... want it prettier at the edge, shuffle round to the aisle where the fabric place sells ribbon and add that to the edges.

Again, how big and how much do you want to spend, JackieO?

Might sewing 2 similar ones together be an option? The chazzer's a good place to start.

VfM4meplse My sofa has a doube bed inside it so its a fair size.I think you may have given me an idea I have my old friend coming to lunch in a couple of weeks and she had a sewing machine I will ask her if its possible to stitch my existing throws together :):):)

They are in a nice cream colour and are made from 100 %cotton with a square waffle effect and I really like them, but sewn together they may do the trick Doh why didn't I think of that. Senior dozy moment I think :):):)

I knit all the time Monnagram for The Linus Trust and I really wanted a cloth throw .Re the fabric warehouse another good idea cheers although not too many in the deep dark recesses of rural Kent I may have a look in JL when I go next to Bluewater if I get stuck
    Cheers chums

Jackie It might be worth checking Ikea online . I have two enormous throws from there for the same purpose . The ones I have aren't smooth but when I bought them they had lots of extra large in different fabrics although that was a few years ago and people seem to by smaller furniture nowadays .
Don't know about now but I have four huge ones from next from a few years back 200 x 250cm each .

I missed your post above mine Jackie . Perfectly doable with cotton . I've sewn both smaller throws and curtains together in the past .

    I got this one https://www.therange.co.uk/cushions-and-throws/throws-and-blankets/giant-soft-touch-throw#597552
It's lovely and cosy on my leather settee in the winter.
I also got a couple of cream cotton ones from Ikea which are enormous, but not sure what size they are, they do cover a 3 seater settee generously.

I got a massive one from Costco. It hangs down quite a bit on both sides of a king sized bed
