Help - Renewal of home insurance for a house i'm selling (and is under offer)

Can anyone help - i'm about to renew my home insurance and wondered if there was a difference to the premium of buildings and contents insurance when a home is being sold? Can anyone recommend any websites? I apologise in advance if this is a silly question!

i have just got 50% off mine by shoppping around. i'd start to pay monthly, even if it is a little more, as you can then stop the S/O immediately you sell - some firms charge a chunk of "admin fee" to cancel a policy if you have paid a full year in advance.

My buildings/contents policy is with the Halifax & I'm in the process of selling my home & buying another one & my policy came up for renewal.

I was uncertain on how selling when renewal insurance was due was handled, so phoned Halifax & was told to just renew my policy as per usual then once I had a completion date the policy would be cancelled & a new one on the house I'm buying issued. My no claims discounts for both buildings & contents would transfer with me.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

You don't even have to cancel the policy you simply do a change of address and provide the new details keeping the same renewal date and if paying by DD payments will be adjusted automatically depending upon the new rating area.

Also, you can still shop around at renewal time for the best deal then do a change of address with new co etc...
