Cheapest TV and internet

Could someone please give me advice. I pay Virgin Media £50.57 a month for the most basic TV package, phone line and broadband. I don't use the house phone at all and never receive calls on this number. I am quite happy with the five main TV channels as I mostly watch Netflix which I pay for separately. Is there anyway I can get TV and broadband without having to pay for a phone line? Is there a cheaper way to do it than I currently do. £50 a month seems an awful lot of money for the little I am getting. I really don't understand any of this and would greatly appreciated advice as I am trying to reduce my outgoings. Thanks.

Freeview or Freesat will give you all the free to air channels for no ongoing cost, you just need a dish or aerial.
If you want broadband from a non-VM source, then you'll still have to pay line rental, and get a BT based line installed. To get near to VM speeds, you'll need an FTTC service, if available.
I suggest you look at the cheap phone and broadband section on the main MSE site. You are probably looking at Plusnet, Sky or TalkTalk as possible providers.
Make sure you are out of minimum term with VM first, as otherwise you'll be charged the full exit fee.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
