I took my meds, the plane took off, I managed not to have a complete panic attack and all was as well as I can just about stand.

Op, you're lucky they even let you on the plane in the first place, they were well within their rights to refuse on the grounds of safety.

I think it's time to change your holiday destinations, the day will come when you're refused boarding, with no comebacks.

I'm not sure that pointing out that there was a way the OP could have got a prescription is all that helpful after the event. But I do agree with others that popping pills to manage flight stress is a not a great idea. Anyway, we are all adults and make our own choices.

On compensation, you should get - assuming the delay was caused by a technical fault - 600 euros each. And if you bought the holiday as a package, I believe you are entitled to a pro-rata refund for the missing day (but that is separate from the flight delay regulations compensation).

If they refused admittance to all nervous flyers taking a tranquilliser, planes would be taking off half empty!

There's a difference between taking meds to fly and

If there was an emergency on take off, or for quite a length of time aftewards, someone in that state would be a danger to the lives of others. Tranquillisers aren't the answer. They just mask the problem.
