Loading Travel Card with AUS Dollars

My granddaughter is going to Sydney soon for a 3 week holiday and has 1000 AUS dollars in cash. Is there a travel card she can load this money onto? Preferably one that won't cost the earth each time she makes a purchase or withdrawal. Each card we've looked at is offering rates to exchange from £ to $ but like I said, she already has the money. She would just prefer not to carry the cash around with her.
Thanks :)

No doubt AUD prepaid cards are available in Australia, but the possibility of loading cash is less likely. A$1000 in large bills is quite compact, easy to conceal discretely and take care of.
