as this is Napier, you wont find much on here because they tend to "own" their car parks and trawl these forums looking for their name and their "victims"

ignoring them was very , very foolish as they can and do take people to court and are formidable

if you are going to fight it you need to know exactly what you are doing , even then you may lose in court if it gets that far

these are not empty threats by BW LEGAL, so take them seriously

if you are in any doubt as to how to fight them , you should consider negotiating a settlement with NAPIER

and in future , follow their parking rules and do not ignore their signs or their letters

we dont normally say this to people about other companies, but YOU DONT FOOL AROUND WITH NAPIER as they know what they are doing legally (part of the DE SAVARY family I believe)

I suggest you contact both of them , in writing

I suppose the original ticket was for maybe £60 or £40 or maybe less ?

(probably for a missing £1 to £2 parking fee)

exactly what they are looking for , despite the IPC CoP talking about GRACE PERIODS

so it would have been maybe less than £1 to pay , possibly 30 pence to 50 pence

if NAPIER take this as far as court , they will prepare a costs order that they incur as possible landholder and becasue they are legal people so charge accordingly

not sure why they are currently involving BW LEGAL, but never seen a NAPIER one end well on here , hence my replies

and judging by your admission above (which they may have seen and took screenshots of as its a public forum with up to 7 billion readers) then the £50 looked attractive , but as you failed to pay on the day and failed to pay their subsequent invoice, they hold all the cards and you would have difficulty with any defence

i AM NOT SAYING ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO WIN , but I wouldnt fancy your chances , so settle before you get an MCOL, make an offer to pay of say the £50 or whatever you prefer, to NAPIER to start with , trying to get them to call off the dogs , as the £150 will probably increase if an MCOL is issued

your actions may have worked elsewhere with other companies, but not NAPIER

better to be told straight out , with straight talking , than mollycoddled and told lies or given misguided platitudes

sometimes you have to take the bad medicine , like I am doing at the moment , you are playing with fire and you asked for advice , so you got it , with no frills

as for the costs of parking , get pictures of the signs , try google streetview , be proactive , and dont tell me you cannot google MCOL ? I do not believe that anyone over 5 cannot google a word or acronym

acronyms are also explained in the NEWBIES sticky thread at the top of the forum , please read it

ISTR that there was a court case recently where Napier was awarded over £800 because of the motorist's unreasonable behaviour.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
  • Hi. I had a letter come through the post with pictures of my car wheel literally 5 inches over the white line (most of my tyre still over my side) and then demanding a £90 fine for it. I read that I
You should ignore Napier so I did and now I have had a letter from Napier and BW LEGAL in the same envelope demanding £150. £90 for Napier and £60 for "initial legal costs" and are threatening me with CCJ. Just wondering what shall I do?
