We love a bit of duck. If I'm feeling mean I cut it into strips and stir-fry but simply pan fried on the skin is my favourite!Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Oh, I don't count cat food in that figure, our beautiful pedigree cats eat expensive food 🤦 although going by what some owners say on a fb group I am on we get off lightly. They eat the same as they got at the breeders, and aren't too fussy 🤞 but easily another £50 a month just for their food. (however hubby's work has a specific pet food bit, which again, discount!)Debt free Feb 2021 🎉2

@girlatplay - i really like Meth0d though haven't tried the washing up liquid. The grapefruit soap is scrum
Suffolk Lass, great idea to get it to go a bit further. Although i always do chicken in stir fries since I discovered velveting, cos its SO GOOD.
Drawingaline - you made me realise I have made an error in my calculation. We spend £16 PER WEEK not month on their food. Waah! The tiny cat has no teeth and is so skinny that if she asks me for a pouch, I give it to her. And then its only fair if I give him one. They get 3 a day each. Plus biscuits. So soft on them.
I need to rejig this here budget, I think.Debt Jan 2017 = £42kMay 2022 = £15k3 -
What pampered !!!!!! cats you have. This reminds me so much of my late mum who would do anything for a cat that literally could just look at her and she’d want to give it the Earth 🥰

Ours seem to really like the dry food and we got given a water fountain when we got them which has been the best thing ever. They drink loads (this breed is particularly prone to kidney issues) so they only share a 70g tin twice a day. Reading some others issues with this breed and food makes me realise how lucky we have been with them. They weigh 7.4k and 6.5k so are growing fine (very large breed, boys can get up to 9k 😱) and seem happy most of the time. They used to shout for food when they were kittens, but apart from the smaller devil cat demanding toast and ham they don't really clammor for food anymore.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉2

@MissRikkiC and @savingholmes - did you look into velvetting? Has it changed your life yet? It’s basically getting chicken to the texture you get from a Chinese takeaway. Sounds like a faff but really isn’t. It’s basically battering the chicken but you poach instead of fry. So make a batter of egg (recipes say egg white but I’ve found it makes little difference if you separate) and cornflour, soak your chicken strips (20 mins) then lower it into boiling water with a little vinegar til it’s cooked through. Drain well (or it’ll make a stir fry soggy), but the chicken will be velvety silky. Also the ‘battering’ does make the meat go a little further.Debt Jan 2017 = £42kMay 2022 = £15k5

@girlatplay - I was substituted some lavender method spray and it’s very nice. I love lavender. I’lll look out for offers on more method stuff🍃
@Drawingaline and @Suffolk_lass I know I know! I’m a disgrace! They’re so cute though. Mine also sometimes just suck the gravy off and leave the lumps which is both disgusting and wasteful. I will only put new food down when the bowls are empty. I think I can cut down to 5 pouches between them. Also, I got some food from the staff discount shop which should bring the spend down.
please can you recommend the fountain?Debt Jan 2017 = £42kMay 2022 = £15k2
