Being a lover of Marmite, I made cheese and Marmite pinwheels with left over puff pastry to have for brunch. Yerch.
Don't know how but they didn't taste very good. Genuine Marmite too, not ersatz Tesco substitute.
Going to have smoked mackerel fishcakes, BBQ potato wedges, and carrot salad for tea. Which as brunch was so early and so disappointing, will be quite soon.
Avoided the shops, but I need to post a parcel tomorrow so will brave them then.

    Afternoon everyone,

That's me back to CFO until Friday when I think younger son is back up.:) He had ordered a part for his car that was supposed to arrive on Thursday but didn't....:(

I had lovely day yesterday and leftovers are thankfully manageable, I've been munching on LO smoked mackeral pate and HM bread and tonight I'll cook a gammon steak with pineapple and have with LO cous cous and rice salad:D.

I've been shattered today so apart from putting the kitchen to rights I've not done much. It's been a sunny day but very cold and a heavish frost is expected tonight so I'll give the pansies another couple of days on my sheltered deck before putting them out in baskets and pots.

I bought a pot of coronation chicken before the weekend, so had to open that - made a sandwich :)

One pot makes 3 generous sandwiches, so I'll probably be repeating that meal tomorrow :)

I made coronation chicken for the buffet yesterday, it disappeared like snow off a dyke - I had been hoping there might be some of that LO ;)

    Everybody loves it :)
Yes, I could make it myself - but it comes down to "just wanting a little bit" and a pot'll do. It's not as good as one I make my own, but a pot comes without washing up and ending up with 10x the amount just because of the ingredients needed and the pack sizes/options those come in ....

    I make it just 1-2x a year at a guess.... and I buy 1-2 pots a year.

Actually, the pots are !!!!!.... but I buy them anyway :)

If I was just making for me I'd buy a pot too. Still I've friends coming for lunch next week and I think I might make a biggish batch and hold some back.....;)

I think A5da has the best range of sandwich filler pots ... some fab flavours there - and less pricey than other mainstream supermarkets .... I do wish I was near an Asda .... I'd buy a pot about once a month if I were!

    Just look at them!!

I'd never buy a simple one, say egg/mayo, that's just daft .... but anything spicy with chicken is game! Or the three cheese and onion because I've only ever got one cheese in my house :) Oh and the seafood cocktail, although I do usually make that myself with surimi fish (aka crab sticks) as I don't like prawns.

Fish sticks yum I am partial to them but they are very high in salt so a rare treat...:)

Once I've got muffins I also swap out a scrambled eggs moment for a poached egg moment. They're better on muffins as they're "a bitter fit", so look nicer and a bit different. Usually with beans.

That's a good idea, I think I will have poached eggs tomorrow with one, it will make a change.

I find I tend to eat something, like it, buy some more, eat it, buy some more to "stock up" and immediately stop fancying it :)

I think that is how I've ended up with so many tins. I used to use it a lot in pasta bakes and I think I must have got sick of it.

I do that all the time :)

Buy something, then realise I'm "having similar things twice in one day". Not with salmon though - never, ever, bought salmon.

The salmon was part of the online delivery I had a few days ago. It came up as a "flash" sale at 70% off and as I love salmon I grabbed a few packets for the freezer.

I had nothing to do, so did nothing. I've got a bit "twitchy" and popped out randomly within a 1 mile radius .... but that's it.

Even parking costs £3 each time you think "I'll stop here and see what's what".... so it's best to stay home until you actually NEED to buy things, then find shops with free parking :)

I'm lucky, I can walk to the town centre in 10 minutes so there are no parking charges, and it can be nice to just have a wander and then I am able to walk back home through the large park. It was a lovely sunny, if cold morning so it made for a nice hour or so out.

^ Hmm, I clearly still have more work to do on learning to quote from posts. I promise I will get there in the end!
