Cooking for one

I don`t have it karcher but it was very easy, I remember it was basically tinned butterbeans, tinned tomatoes, herbs like oregano and tomato chutney to give it a lovely kick. Topped with a thick pastry crust made with a nice lot of cheese. I remember making three and freezing two in those old pyrex dishes. It was very popular with the family and only needed the green veg. Hardly cost anything compared to meat
I found a different one online, sounds nice too

Hi all, mind if I join?
I live alone on a limited budget and struggle to eat healthily and cheaply. I don't have a lot of time so keep slipping back to convenience foods and they leave me looking and feeling rubbish
I utilize my freezer as much as possible but get fed up or reheated food and eating the same thing for days on end.
I also have IBS and try to follow a restricted diet to keep it under control. This makes it all much harder!
I appreciate all the advice on here, most of my friends have families / partners to share the cooking / shopping etc and I get a bit down about it.0 -

oh now, that is mean mr S. I pay tax too and have more than enough for my needs these days but there are many people out there who struggle on a daily basis and I mean struggle. Its the multi children, non working big families and those who who have newly entered and never paid tax that I struggle with. Someone like the person I know, ex pat for over 40 years, came back a few weeks ago and in intensive care last week, still in there and an expensive op will be performed, all for free I don`t wish anyone ill but please do save the bile for those who are really a drain
Back to food, just had the aubergine pasta sauce with w/meal spelt pasta and have been on a 5 mile cycle ride and had coffee here at home, sitting in the sun. That sauce will be a to-do at least once a month, was so easy and very tasty
beluga, kefir is your friend, as is white rice and stewed apple. Kefir is easy to make, just for the cost of milk. I don`t like thinking of food all the time but it is a constant battle to eat things that are good for our bodies. We are what we eat. A warm welcome0 -

I've got about a year of it left, and I'm having massive panic attacks at the thought of going back on benefits. So I'm trying to cut down to make it last longer. I'm going to be starting counselling in a few months, I'm just waiting to get to the top of the waiting list, but how successful it will be I don't know.
I think your post was very unkind to a lady who already has enough problems.Slimming World at target0 -

As I'd bought a pack of 6 sausage rolls yesterday - and thought I'd better have two portions of 3, rather than three portions of 2 ... else I'd tire of them... lunch today has just been 3 hot sausage rolls
I'd gone in for the "pack of 5, 85p", but once I got there they'd been discontinued and they had a new brand/pack of "6 for £1.09" - which I didn't really want as I liked the previous packs... but I was in there and had to walk out with something, so I begrudgingly bought them. Not so keen on these as the 5-packs, less meat I think. So I'll be eating fewer sausage rolls in the future as I won't have the knowledge of where I can easily buy a pack.... there are many shops with many sausage rolls, but I'd only buy ones I found tasty in budget, I'd not just buy them because they're for sale.0 -
