It's like anything really - if you understand it then it's not as scary.
Oh what a simple view...
All new information brings new fears to worry about0 -
I left the house, first time since last year maybe, can't remember, time passes
Headed for A1d1 and thought I'd look for "something that looks nice ... that makes me fancy it". The shelves mostly contained air.... all the fresh food and half the chilled sections were simply empty.
So, plan B... what have they got then, that you could "just put up with" and I came away with a 75p frozen chicken curry.
Overall .... I'd eat it again. When you consider a lot of chippies charge you 75p just for a pot of curry sauce ... a chicken curry/rice for that price doesn't seem too bad.
So that was my "big treat of 2017"
That was all I bought in there, must've been going round and round and round for 30 minutes looking for "something nice". I just don't know, I can't decide, I don't do decisions, not sure ... could have this, or that, or that, or that ... or that and that... or not... or none ....0 -

Sounds familiar...I've been known to walk round a SM for hours wondering what I fancy to eat and leaving with nothing more than a pint of milk, bottle of wine and a baguette because I lost the will to live, let alone eat'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
And I ain't got the power anymore'0 -

Ah, it's not just me then ..... that's exactly how I feel when I go in and rapidly become disillusioned and disappointed.
Then you look at the person behind you's stuff ... and they've got piles of exciting looking stuff ... that you couldn't/wouldn't cook as it's not Billy No Mates food, but big packs.0 -
I'm trying to start a small list of "easy, but really nice, food you could make if you get your 4rse into gear and remember you intended to make it".
One thing would be to buy "a nice loaf" - that's where you slice it yourself, rather than the usual 24p loaf ... and a pint of milk ... and then I could make two big slabs of toast topped with welsh rarebit.
It's on the list ... have to see if I [1] remember [2] get round to it
Talk of the cheese sauce made me add that to my list.0 -
so my nibbles tea was lovely although I couldn't revive the baguette it was way beyond resuscitation so it had to be a very boring piece of white sliced. Good idea with the list PN you could put it on here and then we can nag you to have something from it sometimes
Decisions when it comes to food shopping I am OK with but my issue is when I am faced with menu in a restaurant or a takeaway menu ...too many choices and I just keep on changing my mind ..very annoying if you are eating with me
Anyway its not cooking but tonight I am watching the Matrix and polishing off some leftover baileys0 -

I have the same problem with menus- there are very few foods I don't like/won't eat (tripe, raw oysters, fresh tuna and okra are about it really - it's a texture thing and thankfully not everyday food items) so tend to dither for ages making my choice - must be much easier if you can narrow choices down on the don't like/won't eat basis LOL:D0
