The Ring one looks OK, works from a 12volt socket (Ciggarette lighter) in your car, do you have one?I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

That link won't work.. was it this one? http://www.argos.co.uk/product/7405244
I'm honestly wondering why I have never bought one of these before. This would definitely encourage me to check my tyre pressure more frequently!0 -
If you're definitely going to buy one I'd get the keys back from the garage and try inflating the tyres. As above, its likely to be less than the garage bill and its the first thing they will do.
Two punctures especially on opposite sides is very unusual.0 -
I have one of these:

Very easy to use, just set the pressure on the device then attach it to the tyre and it will inflate the tyre up to the requested pressure.0 -
I have one of these:

Can pump up car tyres quicker than any home tyre compressor without much effort.0 -
My two rear tyres have slow leaks - old alloy wheels that need the tyres taking off and the rims being cleaned up.
What I notice is that the leak is temperature dependant. I can go for weeks with no change, then both go down at the same rate overnight. I think it is a combination of the effect of temperature on the flexibility of the rubber of the tyres and possibly the effect of the temperature/pressure effect (Charles' Law if you remember your school physics!) making the slow leak look worse and bringing it to my attention.
So on a cold morning I can find both rear wheels looking a bit flat and needing a quick blast from the compressor that I keep in the boot.0
