Flat tyres (Just a wee moan)

Options
Not overly superstitious but of course today being Friday the 13th, lucky me went to drive to work but couldn't move the car.

Both front tyres are completely flat!

So confused as to how that even happened (Obviously I've had flats before, but never 2, let alone both front ones)

I couldn't see any damage (from a very brief inspection)... maybe kids letting the air out of my tyres? Really hoping they're not both needing replaced *Fingers crossed!*

you have either driven over somthing across the road and picked up a foreign object in two of your tyres causing them to loose pressure or your car has been targeted by vandals or pranksters damaging or letting the air out of the tyres

First thing i would do is get a compressor or a foot pump and see if they tyres still hold air and if not then you will have to come up with a different solution

    Thanks for your reply.

I don't have a compressor or foot pump so I gave the keys to my local garage and will hopefully hear back later today.

Dont let them fob you off with needing new tyres. If they are flat its only the bottom bit thats flat. Just replace the bottom half :)

    Sorry... :)

Just out of interest, how often do you check your tyres?

forgotmyname - My brother suggested the same thing!:rotfl:

neilmcl - Admittedly, I don't check my tyres all that often:o I'll try and do better...

The only reason I mentioned it is that they could've been going down for quite a while now.

Hopefully the garage will let you know if they're damaged or not.

May I suggest you invest in a compressor.

Are the valve caps missing? Its unlikely kids would replace them.

Car is at the garage, OP is unable to check, unless she phones the garage. Can they be trusted to give a true reply?
I think this job really needs
    a much bigger hammer.

To be honest, I didn't even think to check for the valve caps this morning. Although why only do the 2 front ones? (Maybe just me but if I'm going to bother doing 2, I'd just do the full lot!:p)

I can check however; I only gave the garage the keys. The car is still at my house. I do trust them however (well, as much as one can trust garages I suppose!)

How much might one expect to spend on a compressor?
