Hi all
I have been a Virgin PAYG customer for years, phone was just a backup and to get calls from work only, but now I see they have 4G and £15 20GB of DATA.
is this a good plan?
I have always been a PAYG customer never a monthly paying one so what are the feedbacks from the users?
Thank you

That's a good deal as it also includes 5000 mins. I don't think the data covers tethering and not sure about costs when on holiday abroad.
Just read the T&Cs and if OK go for it the the price is excellent value.0 -
I've been a virgin sim only customer for 4 years and am pleased.
Recently upgraded to 4G
Great if you use your phone regularly.0 -
1 more question: I will be going on a holiday for 6 months to Asia in November, so I will not take my sim card with me as I will use local sim cards, so what do I do to keep the number active but don't want to pay monthly charge as I will no be using it?

AFAIK tethering isn't permitted on Virgin Mobile.
Speeds are capped at 25Mbps (depending on coverage, location etc).
However 20GB for £15/month (excluding RPI increases in July of each year) isn't too bad. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -

You sign up for 12 or 24 months on a contract, you can't pick and choose which months you pay. You should probably wait till you return before signing up to a contract. If you started a monthly contact it's worth asking, some networks allow a temporary suspension of service and payments while overseas, or convert back to PAYG.
Does anyone still offer a voluntary suspension on contracts? I can't think of any network that still offers it.====0 -

Perhaps it's too unlikely to be worth asking these days, but you never know...Evolution, not revolution0 -
well virgin ones tend to be 30 day contacts.
There is no easy solution.
1) Down grade to the £6/month and keep paying it. (you will loose offers though, like double data)
2) port the number to another provider on PAYG and keep it going. Will cost you £10 topup I guess.0 -
