  • Evening all

Quick catch up - now spent £428.58/£3250 for the year. Going to try to come in under £500 year to date to keep on target. I have lots of food in and only need some potatoes and sausages to have a full week of meals. :j

Nearly weekend thank goodness - work very busy!

  • NSD #11 for me today and pleased - should be NSD again tomorrow.

Everybody seems to be doing so well. Thriftwizard - sounds like you've made a lasting impression on your 11 year old nephew - how lovely for you both! FlatEric sorry I don't know what to suggest that might help you but can 'hear' the frustration in what you write about not wanting to spend the minimum amount on an online shop just for the sake of not going into the shop. I hope you can come up with a plan for the future - but enjoy your family's visit first x

Another NSD yesterday but I will need to nip out and get some bananas today at lunchtime otherwise I'll be in big trouble with my 4 year old.

I may also get some butter as I spotted a Weetabix brownie recipe in the recipe list at the start of the thread and I've got loads of the darned stuff from when I stocked up just before my son decided he doesn't like it any more. Personally I can't stand it, way too mushy, so it's been sitting in the cupboard silently reproaching me for months. I have my day off with him tomorrow so that could be a good activity for us to do together.

I find Weetabix are very good for making chocolate crispy cakes as well. Just melt chocolate with a little syrup then mix in crushed Weetabix. :) They are very good for making nest shaped ones coming up to easter as well.

Ooh good thinking - I'll give that a try too. The boy asked me if we could cook something with syrup in next time (so he can lick the spoon obvs).
  • Managed to stay out of the shops for 5 days, then spent £2, really didn't need anything - running low on tomatoes and lettuce, but that can wait 'till Tuesday, when I am meeting a friend for veggie shopping. Made some hummus, coleslaw and soup out of supplies, which has been fridged/frozen. Have a lovely w/e everyone.

Total £14-40 in Morries and Lidl, really happy with this month.
Do I need it or just want it.
  • I've managed a few NSDs which I'm pleased with. A further £1.31 for milk and an extra tin of tomatoes, taking me up to £27.41. Will do my main shop on Monday and try to avoid biscuit buying over the weekend - I think I have enough in to make scones so will stick to those instead.

Spent £19.99 today. My freezer draws are full now.
OH needed milk and cheese again! He's been making a lot of cheese sauce to go on jacket potatoes. He bought sweet potatoes today as he had enough of a normal jacket potato.

Dinner : sweet potato jacket and cheese sauce (OH). Two morrocon koftas, bombay potatoes, beans and vegetables (carrot, peppers, cucumber, broccoli, cauliflower, sweetcorn).

    £102.34/£140
    £37.66 left.
I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy :D
