Morning everyone,
Very windy here this morning. Heard on the radio throughout my sleepless night that snow is forecasted so I've wrapped up warm.
Was going to be going to the gym last night but my friend who I was going with had to take his 14 week old to the hospitality as his 2 year old admitted to jumping on her head - scary stuff. Thankfully baby is ok, just bruised. On an MSE side of things it meant yesterday was a NSD.
Today I've already been to the gym and I've got football tonight. Coupled with my healthy, low carb meals, I'm feeling good.
News has circulated the family that my step-brother is going to have a baby girl in May! Willow I think is the name they're going for, I'm not sure how I feel about it.
Have a nice day everyone.0 -
Just popped in to say take care LaineyT.
Oh and Tru, you have more patience than me, I couldn't cope with that kind of behaviour. Look after yourself.'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought

Good morning,
Lainey I am going to light a candle for your DM, thinking of you (((Hugs))) xx
This morning I got up early, made breakfast for both of us and even managed to get dinner done (chilli beans and veg), will only need to cook some rice as I have greens left over from last night.
Did a minimum of decluttering as I was in my bedroom tidying up, but there is still so much more to do. Luckily I got a text from my cleaner that she cannot come tomorrow morning, but will be here tomorrow afternoon. I will be out but DH will be here and can direct her. However this afternoon and tomorrow morning are the times I got to get the clearing finished.
Going to put a wash on as it is sunny out there, good day for laundry.
Later this morning I am going to see the medical herbalist, first visit since the student clinic closed, hope she does not charge me too much, I know she said that she would give the ex-student-clinic patients a special rate but it will not be as cheap as the student clinic, worse luck.
This afternoon chiropodist visit at home, ah the indignity of not being able to cut my own toenails, and would not let DH do it for me because I have a tricky one and don't want to end up with an ingrown one. At least she is very reasonably priced and I get it back on the insurance.
Rest of the day, tidy up the bedroom! An absolute MUST! Can't live with so much clutter anymore, it is already looking better but it will take another few hours at least to get it in tip top shape.
Thinking of all of you who are unwell or have a heavy heart. Candle being lit in a moment as soon as I finish this.
Have a good day x
Edited to say: Tru I read about women in their 50s and 60s leaving their husbands IN DROVES! Just fed up after a lifetime of having to deal with family and work, all sorts of sacrifices then being repaid by grumpy, uncaring behaviours from their husbands. Men leave women if they find a replacement, but women are really doing it for themselves. I have been tempted many times to do the same. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Greetings all. It looks like a brighter morning here so need to get out and do things before the bad weather arrives.
Last night we ate the remainder of the shepherd's pie from the freezer and tonight will be salmon, again from the freezer, along with some roasted veg. I'll have to go out to get some fresh food today even though I was at the big T**** a couple of days ago spending a £20 gift card I got with my phone. The gift card money was mainly spent on things like shower gel and baking ingredients although I did pick up a pack of reduced blueberries which have been very sweet and tasty on my cereal.
Need to have a bit of a hoover round and also do the kitchen floor - one job I hate - plus put some petrol in the car.
Enjoy your day and thinking of you Lainey.0 -
A late good morning from me. The wind has howled and battered around the house for most of the night and, along with the heavy rain, kept me awake a lot. I'm normally a very deep sleeper so not used to this.
I'm still in bed watching the clouds hurtling through the sky and the phone cable bouncing around. Usually there are birds sitting on, not sure they could land today. The windows have a layer of salt spray on them so they'll need washed once everything calms down.
Lainey - my thoughts are with you and your DM. I spent a week staying at my beloved dad's hospice until he passed, the nurses were so kind to me but it's tough.
Tru - that's exactly the kind of behaviour which made me decide to make my OH the ex-OH. He was a sulker, would only do things his way even against all advice. Caterina is right, sometimes it's better to leave and enjoy life rather than put up with such awful behaviour.
I've no idea what I'll be doing today, there's plenty of food in the fridge and logs in the bucket. It's a toss up between finally facing the prep for tomorrow or reading more of my book. :rotfl:
My new great nephew is all fine and dandy now, seems he was very bruised during the birth. He has the longest most elegant legs I've ever seen on a newborn, definitely not the usual chubby legs or arms. He's been named Rivet for which I offer no comment!
The weather is forecast to worsen, I just hope that the power stays on.
Anyway, happy Wednesday to all.0 -
Morning all,
Very windy and a few branches on the pavement and the park but thankfully none too big. I was out early as DGS was coming and I wanted to take Ly1a out before he arrived before 8.I slept on the sofa for the rest of the night(again!) she was wuffing so went down before the wuffs became full blown Hound of the baskervilles barks and woke everyone else.At least I get away from DH snoring.Think the wind disturbed her,I could hear it howling down the chimneys.
DGS is watching Paw patrol in between playing with playdough & dinosaurs-at least the noisy toys arent out yet.
Yesterday I went on the market for f&v,got 2 whole chickens ,sausages and ch breasts and other bits.Good job I took my trolley.Walked to Sains'ys and DS picked me up from there. The worst bit is getting it all in the house from the car as our road is still shut in front of us and we have to park up the road.If you go out,the parking spot is usually filled with contractors vans when you get back. Its now been shut over 12 months so its all wearing a bit thin.Poor Ly1a had settled down a bit over Xmas as they were off for 2 weeks but she's back to hiding upstairs again-she hates the cranes and concrete mixers etc
Have to grin and bear it if it means no more flooded cottages
At least I'm stocked up again if bad weather strikes.
I've got chicken soup in the sc-had to buy a new one as the old one gave up the ghost after many years good service. Its a different make-I couldnt get the one I wanted as they were out of stock.
Tru -sympathise re grumpy husbands
Lainey if you read this- I am thinking of you xx

Morning all x
Well managed to get DD1 sorted with docs and a plan for her depression. She and DGD stayed for dinner last night so no leftovers for lunch today but not to worry as I wanted to make some leek and pot soup anyway.
Still coughing well but ho hum just have to carry on.
Starting to coupon more now as money is getting tight with me not working. Emailed a load of companies this morning singing their praises so hopefully will get something back soon. Did last time I did it quite a few money off coupons came through the post.
Need to sort the freezer and see what lurks in the back and then menu plan.
DW needs emptying but no washing to do. A quick flick round and Hoover and a little bit of ironing to do.
Anyhoo better get on.
Hugs to all in need xxBright Blessings xx0 -

Morning, ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
Lainey, you and your Mum are in my prayers...........take care of yourself.
Yesterday I made the decision to buy a day bed for the back bedroom, there is some shifting to be done and DD1 and SIL will have to come and sort it out. I am just no longer able to do it. Feel rank again this morning. Am wondering if the medication my Dr gave me is taking my BP too low. I did not manage out of bed until 10am. It means I have somewhere to sleep if OH is snoring or I am awake and cannot sleep, it also means I can go and lie down if OH is having his siesta.
I have an appointment with the GP on Friday, I am going to ask him if he can hurry up the scan.
OH is the b****y limit, he has just dropped a spoon down the side of the cooker, guess who had to move the blasted thing to get it out,? no not him!!
We are supposed to be going into town on the bus to get our eyes tested......we will see I will decide about 12 noon if I am going or if we take the car..
The wind is howling round the chimney pots and the trees swaying in the wind, its fine, thats about all you can say.0
