Anyone else experienced this?

I paid off a loan in full at the beginning of November and it still has not been updated as settled 2 months later. I have 2 currents account with them that were updated last month.

I'm likely to be putting in a mortgage application in the next couple of weeks and [STRIKE]do not want there to be[/STRIKE] There can not be a 15k loan balance still on my report!

    I'm so annoyed with HSBC!

My partner called twice with her "normal account" and went through to India and got absolutely nowhere. Myself as an "advanced" customer I got through to a call centre in England.

We settled our loan with them on 14th November and they have not updated our credit report to this effect since and tell me it probably won't be updated untill end of January which I find infuriating. While paying the loan back They updated it every month without fail however once settled it takes 3 months to update onto our report apparently.

First they told me it takes 4-6 weeks from the day I settled to update then they told me it can take 8 weeks to update then they told me it can take 8 weeks from the end of the month I settled it. Now they are saying they only update it quarterly. That's four different times they have moved the goal posts. It's a joke!

Experian tell me I should of been on the update HSBC sent to them on 24th of December which I was not. This is a common occurrence with HSBC customers when they close accounts apparently.

Anyway after loosing my cool on the phone eventually they told me I will get a call within the next couple of days with the aim of HSBC contacting experian directly to update my report instantly. Hopefully my persistence paid off.

Don't forget to push for some compensation from them too. Good luck and keep us updated.
