Which gas and electric supplier has the best user experience?

What an idiotic post. What is this country becoming? A nation of Alf Garnetts? I'm not sure people realise that Alf Garnett was meant to be a joke.
Anyway, back to the op's question ... you will always get people who have good experiences with "bad" suppliers and others who'll have bad experiences with "good" suppliers.
Which? and MSE both carry out extensive surveys of gas and electricity customers. They give a guide to customer service - not a perfect one but better than one or two people giving their individual experiences. If you're not bothered about the risk of bad CS, go with the cheapest quote.0 -

In what way exactly did they demonstrate no interest in your custom?
Suppliers don't have much opportunity to show interest or otherwise when you apply to switch via a comparison site such as the Cheap Energy Club ... and you'd get cashback too! :money:
Edit:
According to your first thread here, you said it was 3 months after you switched to EDF before you managed to obtain a credit meter with them, and sadly it appears it was at least another 4 months thereafter before they got around to updating the necessary database, thereby meaning you missed out on some good deals.

Not as an energy supplier in Great Britian. Where did you hear of them from? :huh:0 -
I am delighted with "So Energy". One of the small companies but a pleasure to speak with (I would not have had to call them but I wanted them to understand that I had had to "guestimate" my usage or this year because we had replaced our 29 year old boiler and we were, indeed using 30% less gas!) They only review monthly payments on a six-monthly basis though, so I am fully expecting my monthly payment to reduce significantly in three months' time!
Last year, I also found Green Star to be very good.
The year before, Extra Energy. Well, you only have to look at the thread(s) about that firm to see they are incompetent.“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”

Thanks for all the responses ... all good food for thought! Will do my research and then come back with any more specific questions!0

You have misinterpreted me. British Gas was the incumbent supplier at my new property; my application for credit meters was declined, despite my offer to pay whatever deposit was deemed necessary.According to your first thread here, you said it was 3 months after you switched to EDF before you managed to obtain a credit meter with them, and sadly it appears it was at least another 4 months thereafter before they got around to updating the necessary database, thereby meaning you missed out on some good deals.

Quite so. I did not claim otherwise.0 -

So, as I understand it, you had a PPM. BG would have had to supply you on that - no deposit would be needed as it is pre-pay.
It would have been your decision to switch supplier.
No supplier is obliged to grant you credit. Perhaps you should check your credit history at the CRAs to see why BG would have refused to grant you any credit, even with the offer of paying a security deposit.
It appears to be you that is confused; confused about custom and credit.
My local corner shop values my custom, but they don't offer credit - it says so on a big sign above the till.0 -

You don't say.It would have been your decision to switch supplier.
It was, in the interests of money saving. Not, I think, unreasonable. No supplier is obliged to grant you credit. Perhaps you should check your credit history at the CRAs to see why BG would have refused to grant you any credit, even with the offer of paying a security deposit.
I have a very good credit history, although the previous tenant owed a large debt to British Gas.It appears to be you that is confused; confused about custom and credit.

No, I'm not confused at all. Your local corner shop may not offer credit, but nor is it likely to charge some of its customers an arbitrary premium.0
