Ok so I phoned sky as my broadband isn't working and was told I need an engineer as he couldn't solve the problem on the phone.. it normally costs £50ish but as I am out of contract he said there was a way round it and I could get it free if I signed up for a new contract.. so i said can you ask if I can have the offer of free broadband again as that is what I got when I joined and he said I can only have it for half price so £5 a month.. which I accepted but now I've looked it up and they are still offering free broadband for new customers , am I able to try and negotiate getting it for free ? Or do I not have a leg to stand on seeing as though I need an engineer to fix my broadband and they are offering it for free ? Would another company offer that too? Thanks !!

They will only charge for an engineer, if it proves that your equipment/side of the system is at fault.
A new provider would give any offers, but if your broadband didn't work the engineer situation would still apply.
I have had very bad broadband since leaving Sky for PlusNet. Part was solved by a replacement modem (one tech said that was the problem, while others said it wasn't), but I still had lots of drop outs, which settled after about 6 weeks (I believe there was some general external work done). However, after still having at least one drop a day, I am getting more (but very brief) and will put up with this until I lave (asap) as the next step is an engineer and I don't trust that they won't try to blame their fault on something here, so charge me . (I know this has happened )0
