Hi there, I've created a new thread... It's quite a hefty and long one but I'm hoping someone can help!0

Bumping an old thread with an advert for yours is pointless!
Your new thread will go to the top of the forum anyway.
Just post in your own thread0 -
Thank you, Ill have a look at your post. :T:TThe rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer - I was in my late 20s when I figured out what this meant.I neither take or enter agreements which deal with interest. I dont want to profit from someone's misery.0

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.
Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct
Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.
The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
A couple of months ago I received a unpaid parking fine at the Gateway Shopping Center,Trowbridge,Wilts.
The problem with this is I had a stroke early March 2019 and was not allowed to drive for approx 2.5months so it was not me driving as at the time my daughters would use it if their husband/partner were using their car they would borrow mine to do shopping or running me to my hospital appointments so I asked both if they had parked in the above car park
which my youngest held her hand up to.
But she said she had paid and could prove it as she paid it by using a app called Zo so when she checked it she realised she had put her cars reg in instead of mine.
I contacted Smart parking to explain the mistake and was told it makes no difference I was still liable so I appealed against this with their appeal form which was also declined
Now there is a dept recovery company telling me I now have to pay £170 as I have refused to pay and I do not intend to pay. My daughter has emailed them twice to get it sorted and they never replied back not even to confirm they received them,we have tried to tell the dept recovery that there was a mistake hoping for some understanding but nil they are only interested in getting the money.
I have stopped my daughter from contacting them ,I have tried to find out who owns the car park but no luck there yet as there's multiple shops.
At the mo I don't know which direction to go in with the damage the stroke has left me in I struggle with things and get very stressed over such a small problem which can so easily be resolved with understanding that humans make mistakes .
I just hope someone can show me a light end the end of this tunnel as I'm struggling with this thank you0 -
Why didn't you just appeal 2nd stage in your name as keeper, and you would have won at POPLA as you were not the driver?
100% win was guaranteed for you, had the driver not been named. this is what this forum is all about, how to win, including how to win in court.
Stop contacting the Debt Recovery scammers. You should IGNORE them, as the sticky thread says at the top of this forum 'NEWBIES PLEASE ReAD THESE FAQS FIRST'.
My signature below tells you how to click back one click and you are there.
I REALLY HOPE THE LETTERS ARE STILL COMING IN YOUR NAME, AND THAT YOUR DAUGHTER DIDN'T GO GIVING HER NAME & ADDRESS AS DRIVER (WRONG MOVE).
NO REPLIES ON THIS ANCIENT THREAD - YOU WON'T BE SEEN OR ANSWERED!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hello there.
Don't panic! The advice with the threatening-sounding debt collectors' letters is to keep them all but ignore them.
The time to act is if you get a Letter Before Claim. It does not sound as if you have had one of those but you do need to be prepared.
The thing to do is to start your own thread - just copy and paste the post you've made onto it. Posting on someone's old thread will get confusing and you won't get the help you need.0
