compensation for 8 weeks no fibre broadband?

Options
We have been without Plusnet fibre broadband for 8 weeks with no fix in sight. It is a problem with an update that has now failed 24 times
We are being 'generously' allowed to leave the contract with Plusnet early and as a goodwill gesture, they are offering to refund us the next 10 months line rental we paid in advance.
I think we deserve some proper compensation for the time we have spent on the phone, inconvenience of no internet at Xmas and for the fact they can't fulfill their side of our contract.
Does anyone have any success stories of getting compensation? Any tips? I mentioned getting a deadlock letter which might motivate them.
Thanks.

    Good luck with that.

Looks like they prefer to release you as a customer, hence the refund offer.

Compensation only applies to business accounts (which are more expensive), especially if lost income can be shown.

You're being offered 5 times the amount you'd have paid. Snap their hand off, then once the credit is applied, take your business elsewhere and you'll get a refund for the outstanding credit.

I'm not sure this is what PN are offering, I suspect the OP paid a years L/R in advance, and PN are kindly going to refund the unused 10 months, as well as 'allowing' a penalty free migration to another provider...

What you need to do is look at your SLA for the compensation due.

Oh. You don't have an SLA because it was a cheap consumer product and not a business one.
  • We paid line rental in advance so this is what they are offering to give me back. Thanks for your help.
