SSP1 form?

Hi, My partner has been off sick since the 4th July and in receipt of SSP since the 11th July.
So my calculations 26 weeks and 1 day and 22nd January should be her last SSP day (28 weeks).
When does the employer normally inform you that your SSP is due to run out and send a SSP1?
She rang work but they weren't very helpful and just said SSP runs out after claiming it for 6 months :rotfl:.

SSP is paid for 28 weeks, not 6 months so her work really doesn't seem to know what is going on. They should issue the SSP1 a week or so before entitlement ends in order that a claim for ESA can be made.0

on or before the beginning of the 23rd week, if your SSP is expected to end before your sickness does0 -
Well she had a welfare meeting and the manager said you get your SSP1 off the doctors or ring the DWP.
Which is bull, they didn't even give a date when the SSP stops.
What's our next move because don't we need a SSP end date/SSP1 to claim Income Support?

The manager clearly doesn't know what he/she is talking about. The SSP1 is issued by the employer, and there is a legal requirement to do so. If they continue to be difficult she needs to report the problem to HMRC.0

Thats interesting TELLIT01, I'm in a bit of limbo too because I don't know what doctor will say next week when my sick note runs out (i've been off for 5 months). How can you apply for help if you don't know long you are likely to be off sick?

You don't need to know how long you will be off for in order to claim ESA. Very few people do know. As long as you have a medical certificate (fit note) from your GP you can claim.0

The link I posted gives you details of who to call if issues with the employer.0 -
As employer does not appear to be fully conversant with rules of SSP might be as well to check they are paying correctly. You say "Hi, My partner has been off sick since the 4th July and in receipt of SSP since the 11th July." This suggests that her normal pattern of work is a three day week is that correct also has she been paid the gross figure of £88.45 for each week off sick?0

Yeah she has been getting paid £353.80 per 4 weeks which equates to £88.45 per week so she has been getting paid correctly.
But I think we need need the SSP1 to be able to make an IS claim based on my partner getting Carers Allowance for me?0
