Hi, looking to get my first mortgage, so completed a £2 credit check and found that there is a default from Feb 2016.
I haven't received any letters informing me of this at all.
Are they allowed to do this?

Yes they are, letter would have been sent. They are under no obligation to track you down if you have changed address. The onus is on you to keep your creditors informed.

Depends... Did you default on a debt? If you did then so long as they sent the letter then yes. If you haven't defaulted on a debt and it's an error then it can be removed. You'll need to clarify what happened before anyone can really answer if it should be there or not and if not how to get it removed.DFW Nerd #025DFW no more!
