To stop a rug from moving?

Can anyone recommend something decent to put under a rug to stop it moving? We've a reasonably weighty rug in front of the fire but it's annoying in that no matter how much you pull it one way it always ends up shuffling over the other way as you walk on it. I know you can google anti slip strips to put underneath but i'd…

If the rug is on top of a carpet then, like other say, it will not stay in place - unless you apply sticky webbing to the back of the rug. This in turn sticks to the carpet. Unfortunately, it's not much use if you want to move the rug for cleaning etc.

Don't waste your money on anything else. NOTHING ELSE WORKS.
