Apparently I am now to wait 2 months for PS VR anything I can do

Hello there.
I've ordered a PS VR Headset from Very 3 days ago, an it should have arrived yesterday.
It's had no update at all and is still saying it's being processed by Supplier, I spoke to two people now, the first guy told me that it wouldn't be delivered till 1st of March, which is near 2 months away and absolutely unacceptable, item was stated as being in stock but low stock and would be delivered on the date stated, 2nd woman I spoke to had told me today that I should wait another day for it to arrive, which it clearly won't happen as Its still not updated passed the processing stage.
I could wait for 2 months despite how ridiculous of a wait that is if it was just for me, but I intended to buy this as a birthday present for someone birthday which is this Tuesday which it'll annoy me more as its the moral of it that annoys me more as I know I'll get it eventually but this is meant to be a birthday present for a friend and that annoys me that it looks like there's no way it's going to arrive in time.
Anyone know what my rights are in all this? Is there no way I can pressure them to speed things up or get them to get it from a different supplier?
I've ordered things from the Chinese places on eBay that state they can take up to a month and they've come a lot quicker than this which is also another thing j am annoyed at

If they're having trouble getting stock, they're hardly going to go signing contracts with a new supplier just to keep you happy.
Probably the best you can do is ask them for a refund, which I am sure they will agree is a reasonable request and source it yourself from elsewhere.0 -
Hi. I'm no expert but the reason I'm replying is because I heard a radio phone in about this very issue this week just gone. Someone had ordered an item as a Christmas gift and it failed to arrive in time for Christmas (or indeed since!), despite a promised date of delivery before Christmas. The 'expert' who was on said that failure to deliver an item within the specified delivery date is 'a breach of contract' - no ifs and no buts. They also said that most 'reputable' retailers - and MAYBE 'Very' can be considered as such?! - will refund without question when this is pointed out to them. Just out of interest I had a quick look on Citizen's Advice for you. If you paid by debit or credit card, it sounds like you can ask your bank / credit card company to do a 'chargeback'. I would imagine this would be a last resort option if the retailer isn't playing ball with you. Here is a link to that page...really useful info on it. Hope that helps : https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/consumer/somethings-gone-wrong-with-a-purchase/if-something-you-ordered-hasnt-been-delivered/0

This isn't really a techie issue and you will receive wise words of wisdom if you repost it (or ask a MOD to move it) to the Consumer Rights sub forum.0

The "expert" is not ... if the seller's T&Cs define when a contract is formed (e.g. on dispatch of the goods, or the sending of a dispatch notification email) then there may be no contract to breach. The seller can refund any monies taken and that would be that.
As per the above post, this is a Consumer Rights question.0 -
There's nothing Very can do about it, Playstation VR is in very short supply and no-one has stock bar the odd trickle that occasionally come through.

it's been "out of stock" everywhere since the start of November!
My sister tried to order one well before Christmas for her son and she was told, 6 weeks before Christmas, it would be at least 2 - 3 month wait if not longer before their is enough stock worldwide to begin to fulfill orders.
So she gave up and is waiting till February/ March before ordering it.Laters

You have to expect this with Sony, they always restrict supply to create demand.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

late update but, I've decided to cancel my order an now I am having issues with that as well, not really surprised but angry all the same in a sense.
Pretty much same issues as when I wanted the item, just being fed different stories, I tried to cancel the item a total of 3 times myself just to get the same error that "can't guarantee cancellation as the item may have been dispatched by supplier" kinda crap, which is a joke considering it's been showing processing on the page for ever since I first ordered it.
I've spoken to one person about this, they told me that they've put the cancellation through an it'll take 48 hours for me to be re-credited, I check my account daily and noticed there was a cancellation button on my order still, so I jumped back into a chat support assistant straight away, they then told me the cancellation hadn't gone through which, I was really angry about as if that was the case then why couldn't that first person tell me immediately? So this somewhat nice new person told me that it's now gone through and it should appear on my account with me being recredited in 3-5 days.
Now I'd like to believe her especially when she spoke like a human being an not like some trained robot, but yet again I've checked this morning and STILL, there's a cancellation button there? If the cancellation went through then why is that there still? Does anyone know if that's normal for their system? As I've never had that before with any other website on this planet, also does anyone know if she was telling the truth, will it really take 3-5 days for the order to be cancelled an for me to be recredited?
I also do not like the fact she was trying to reiterate the whole cancellation can't be guaranteed thing like the error message I mentioned, the item hasn't even left processing let alone be sent out for delivery, an I know for a fact it's general policy when an item has not been sent out for delivery that it can be cancelled anytime before that, an it's seeming more to me in my opinion that they know my next statement is due soon an they are holding onto that money so that I'll have to pay them more next month.
They need to stop making out like its up to the supplier to cancel it as well, it's their business, the order is on their system, they have a duty to fulfill customer expectations until the item is out for delivery then it's no longer their problem, but Very seem to act like none of it is their problem an it's all down to their mysterious supplier that they refused to name because I wanted to contact them myself about the cancellation to see if I could confirm on their end if they recieved the cancellation.0 -
Their website T&C's clearly state that "Where the goods have not been delivered, the reimbursement will be made within 14 days of the cancellation".
So I would say, until that 14 days is up, it's a good bet that you could wait the full 14 days. Anything before is a bonus...Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

If that's the case, then why did one person tell me 48 hours an the other after that 3-5 days? Like what would be the point of not being upfront with me because given that 5 day limit is up on Wednesday an I'll contact them again if there's no change, why not just save themselves the time an tell me 14 days straight away?0
